yoga.
I came to yoga 25 years ago in a damp, cold, open room of the Vashon Athletic Club nestled in the Salish Sea. Awkward, disruptive, and yet undoubtedly opening up painted-shut windows within my body, yoga saved my life for the first of many times.
Years later, in 2006, I took my first teacher training with a christian yoga school. At the time, it was my only doorway into the healing realms of yoga, and I’m genuinely so grateful for the period of time I spent trying to find connective tissue between yoga and Jesus. Spiritual deconstruction gave me even deeper access to both, which was somewhat surprising in the end, although I no longer teach a form of yoga that centers Jesus or the christianity I have since shed.
In the years since I’ve accumulated nearly 1,000 hours of teacher training as well as an 8-year run spent teaching other teachers. My teaching style is intuitive, integrated, and focused on the whole person - body, inner territory, and mind.
You’ll find inclusive, intersectional, and welcoming energy in every one of my classes, a place for every body to land and to unravel what is ready to be unlearned. You’ll also be challenged to find your edges and softly lean against them without judgment or perfectionism.
I’m currently teaching in the Mid Willamette Valley of Oregon and you can find my classes on the calendar here!
