Self Reclamation: Sitting-In
In last month's The Witch class we learned how to begin practicing the ancient tradition of Sitting-Out (or Hedge-Riding), which holds a lot of similarities to our Inner Territory work, only it happens out in nature rather than within. This month we are going to approach our Self Reclamation with that same intimate connection with the landscape of our beings. We're going to move slowly through the details of our souls - each blade of grass, each birdsong, each sensation - and then we're going to invite our exiled selves to approach.
For those of us who have ever spent time in a liturgical church maybe we'd recognize the relief and sacredness of rituals that have been practiced for generations, passed down, and infused with the love and humanity of each person who held them before us. This is the magical, earth-based version of a liturgy. We are occupying the boundary layers of our beings, engaging in the same attention and practice of so many generations of people who have lived before us.
